The Story Behind Secret Garden Games.

Secret Garden Games started while we were planning our own wedding.

We absolutely love everything about our friends and family, so when it came to our wedding, we wanted to fill the day with little surprises. From choosing the venue to planning the seating, every decision came back to one thing, how can we make this really fun for everyone?

We bring creativity and expertise to everything we do.

That’s where the idea for Secret Garden Games came from.

The funny thing is, once we started talking about it, we couldn’t stop. Every conversation turned into another idea. We got completely carried away (in the best way), and before we knew it, we were designing a whole collection.

As we planned our own day, we realised we couldn’t find wedding games that felt like they belonged in the kind of celebration we were creating. So, we decided to make them ourselves.

Creativity has always been a huge part of who we are. I come from a background in interior design, graphic design and illustration, so I’m always working on something. Dave is an incredibly talented joiner who can make just about anything and is the most imaginative person I know. Together, we somehow turn our ideas into reality, you can always find our scribbles all over the house.

Not Just Games.

We wanted them to be part of the décor in their own right, not something that was simply brought in for entertainment. Rustic, Scandinavian-inspired and handmade in Ireland, every game is designed to complement the celebration while still being great fun to play.

For us, it has never just been about hiring out games.

It’s about creating those little moments, grandparents getting competitive with the grandkids, new friends challenging each other to a rematch, and guests finding themselves laughing together when they might never have met otherwise.

We’re still counting down to our own wedding, so every game we create is one we’d be proud to have. We genuinely love helping people have a space that is truly theirs, and Secret Garden Games has given us a whole new way to do that. We also love coming up with new ideas, so if you’ve got something bespoke in mind, we’d love to hear it.

Nothing makes us happier than seeing people enjoying something we’ve made.

We hope our games become part of some of your favourite memories, and we can’t wait for them to be part of ours too.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does garden game hire cost in Ireland?

Our wedding packages start from €400, with the final price depending on your venue, location and the number of games you’d like to hire. We have a minimum hire of three games, allowing you to create a collection that suits your wedding perfectly.

What are the best games for a wedding drinks reception?

Cornhole, mini golf and Connect Four are some of our most popular choices because they’re simple to play, encourage a little friendly competition and naturally get people chatting. The games help create those relaxed moments that make a wedding feel special.

How much space do wedding garden games need?

Our games are surprisingly flexible and don’t need a huge amount of room. As a guide, we’d recommend allowing around 4m × 4m of space for every three games. This gives guests plenty of room to play comfortably while keeping the area feeling relaxed and inviting.

If your venue has a smaller courtyard, terrace or lawn, don’t worry, we’ll help you choose games that work best for your space and suggest a layout that complements your venue without getting in the way of your guests.

Every wedding is different, so we’re always happy to chat through your venue and recommend the perfect setup.
